Local Area Update

Dear Resident please see below a weekly update of incidents/crimes/good outcomes in relation to the Benfieldside, Blackhill, Bridgehill and Shotley bridge area over the last week.

Local Update 18th April - 24th April:

On Saturday 18th April at around 2150hrs, four unknown males in a black Audi on potentially cloned plates has attended Front Street, Shotley Bridge and damaged the front of 3 properties by throwing milk bottles full of white paint at them. 3 crimes of criminal damage have been crimed and are still under investigation. If anyone has sighted anything or has any information in regards to the incident or where the bike is coming from, please contact Durham Police on 101 and quote crime ref. CRI00676811.

On Monday 20th April police were informed about 2 unknown male suspect have tried a house door at Hawthorn Cottages at 2249hrs in what is believed to be an attempt to get the keys for a motorbike on the drive. A area search was conducted and a Drone deployed, but no suspects were located. They are believed to be teenagers based on CCTV footage. A crime of attempted theft is currently under investigation.
