Here’s a snapshot of some of the work your local officers and PCSOs have been carrying out to keep our community safe: Engagement PCSOs attended Tanfield Primary School with DAAC (Durham Agency Against Crime) where students learned a lot of interesting information about the police; including about police dogs, the use of drones, police uniform and the roles of Police Officer and Police Community Support Officer.PCSOs attended St Joseph’s Primary School with the Cohesion Team to discuss celebrating diversity and accepting each other for our differences. The students really enjoyed asking questions.Retail Crime Officers have conducted CCTV enquiries for multiple shoplifting offences in the Stanley area.A known prolific shoplifter is to be remanded for multiple offences, and another prolific shoplifter is to be charged.Extra patrols and ASB Officers have conducted foot patrols of Stanley Town Centre as part of Op Pave, including multiple evening patrols of Stanley Bus Station, due to ongoing issues with youth anti-social behaviour and criminal damage. Officers, along with Durham County Council Neighbourhood Wardens will be continuing to focus patrols on the bus station and the town centre.Officers and Durham County Council Neighbourhood Wardens - North have increased patrols in the Dipton area due to a significant increase in the calls of antisocial and illegal use off-road bikes, quads and uninsured vehicles, causing damage and distress and to residents.PCs and PCSOs attended an incident of affray outside of a pub where four people were arrested.Road Incidents/Vehicle Crime PCs and PCSOs attended a road closure for a damage only RTC – thankfully no one was injured.A stolen moped from Chester-Le-Street was found and recovered in Stanley. The suspect made off from police, but he left his car behind which was also seized.Officers assisted with a road closure due to electric line issues to ensure the community’s safety and so that the necessary repairs could be conducted. Serious Assault Stanley PCSOs and PCs attended a serious assault incident alongside Chester Le Street response officers - Stanley officers affected one of the arrests.Upcoming PACT meetings and Drop-ins: 19th February - 2pm - Drop-in at Annfield Plain Community Centre.19th February - 6pm - PACT meeting at Dipton Jubilee Centre for residents of both Dipton and Burnopfield.
