Weekly Update Darlington Neighbourhoods

🚨 The Darlington Neighbourhood Team (NPT) joined Civic Enforcement and DBC Housing officers at a number of different locations this week as part of ASB Awareness Week. 

PCSOs Laura Ripley and Andy Cusick attended Cockerton Library, Whitby Way Shops and West Park. Issues were discussed in relation to Tandridge Court in Cockerton and Cockerton Green. 

PCSO Sarah Smith was in attendance Havelock Street. Lots of information sharing and partnership working is being carried out in relation to the area. 

PCSO’s Charlotte Napper, Jakub Nowicz and Becky Heseltine assisted with road shows at Skerne Park, Yarm Road and Firthmoor this week. Engaging with residents to listen to and address any issues they may be experiencing.  

PCSOs Hannah Salt and Matt Armstrong were present in the town centre, addressing ASB in the town and talking to the community.

🚨 PC Neil Makepeace and PS Matt Plumb recovered a stolen pedal cycle and returned it back to its owner on Tuesday. Partnership working with local security in the town centre identified the suspect who was interviewed and subsequently admitted the offence and was reported to court. 

🚨 Town and Cockerton NPT executed a magistrates warrant at an address in Lodge Street, Darlington. A large quantity of suspected controlled drugs were recovered, and the occupant was arrested. PC Neil Makepeace is now building a file for the Crown Prosecution Service for charging advice.  

🚨 PCSOs Laura Ripley and Nicola Gregson met with Councillor Heslop and completed a walk round of hot spot locations for ASB in Cockerton, looking at ways to address issues.
