Following on from Internet Safety Day last week. Officers from Easington Neighbourhood Policing Team have attended our local Primary Schools in Easington Colliery/ Village and South Hetton. Teaching online safety is crucial because it equips students with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves from these dangers. Cybercriminals often target young and inexperienced internet users through phishing scams, malware, identity theft and online predators. Our visits also gave us the opportunity to introduce our new PCSO to the students, PCSO Gahan came along today and introduce herself to the students and teachers and will be working along side our local Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The students over the these visits have been amazing, so well behaved and asked lots of interesting questions that sparked a lot of discussion.
